Making of RIG&40ty

The design of the audio rack was developed on the fly.
There were no drawings or computer graphics.
Just a few boards of wood and old school woodwork.

Real Life Testing

The audio rack offers space for:

  • 3 Korg Volcas
    - Volca Sample
    - Volca FM
    - Volca Keys

  • 1 mixer

  • and the Op-1 from Teenage Engineering

Cable ducts ensure a clean aesthetic and good accessibility.

Upgrade Time

In the next step:

  • A self-developed RGB LED with microphone was attached to the underside of the rack. Legs for tilt adjustment where made from box hinges.

  • A power bank attached, which supplies the LED strip and an additional USB connection for light with power.

  • The positions of the synthesizers have also been changed again. (Op-1st;)) and an additional subdivision, so that 6 Volcas could also find space.

  • And as a topping on the cake, a headphone stand and mobile phone holder were 3D printed.
